Are larger cities in need of clean water?

Large cities need clean waters now and for the future. The earlier a city can get a water system such as the IWS, the easier changes can be made for the future problems that can occur. Every six out of ten individuals will be moving into these cities within the next ten years. Investments in watershed services (IWS) programs could be helpful for these cities in many ways such as saving money and water protection. Putting in millions of dollars into these cities will provide water to more than 230 million people. It is important for these large cities to have clean water to prevent pollution, and overexploitation. A lot of the large urban areas in a city lack access to clean, safe water. Clean water is needed for drinking and cooking, if humans don't consume this type of water it could be deadly in some occasions. Polluted water can bring individuals different diseases and sicknesses, the watershed systems can fix all of these problems in order to keep environmental sustainability within all of these cities.

   In the images above, they are comparing two different conditions in terms of the watersheds being

used. They are also showing that an annual growth is very important because the growth of the economy may cause an increase in the resources that are available for the payment of ecosystem services programs. If there is a rapid growth in the economy, an increase of impacts of the water

     supplies can occur (Romulo, et. al. 2018)
